Gareth Bale into History Books

On September 1st of 2013, Gareth Bale made his way into the history-books of football as he was signed by Real Madrid for a fee believed to be in the region of €91-€100 million. The Welshman became the most expensive player ever in the sport.

This was a fee that was considered to be just way too much for a player that had only been playing well for Tottenham Hotspur; nonetheless Real Madrid was willing to pay that astronomically high amount of cash to sign the Welshman. As impressive as Bale was performing with Tottenham, this signing was also a way for Real Madrid to respond to their rivals Barcelona which had already signed Neymar.

It has started to become something not very surprising to see clubs spend huge amounts of cash in order to sign certain players and now the agent of ZlatanIbrahimovic, Mario Balotelli and Paul Pogba has stated that one of his clients is worth even more than Gareth Bale.

Paul Pogba at the age of 21 is making a name for himself as the Frenchman has helped Juventus in securing 2 successive Serie A titles as well as also being named as the best young player during the 2014 FIFA World Cup and there is no doubt whatsoever that Pogba will become one of the best players in the world if he continues playing in the way he is.

Juventus has received interest from Real Madrid, Manchester City, PSG and Chelsea as all of these clubs are willing to pay a hefty price in order to secure the services of the young attacker but according to the agent of Pogba, Mino Raiola said that his client is worth over €100 million.

“If they want Pogba, they can call me. I’m not going to call anyone there. He’s worth more than 100 million euros, but the price will be set by the club that buys him.’’ Mino Raiola said.

Whether or not any club is prepared to offer more than €100 million remains to be seen but that’s the price that Mino Raiola believes that Paul Pogba is worth.
